Who are we

The Police Scotland Sikh Association (PSSA) is a dedicated organisation committed to supporting Sikh officers and staff within Police Scotland, as well as promoting understanding and inclusion of the Sikh faith within the wider police community. Established in 2024, our mission is to promote equality, cultural awareness, and positive engagement between Police Scotland and Sikh communities across Scotland.

We serve as a vital link, providing support, advice, and networking opportunities for Sikh employees, while also working to influence policies that impact our community. Our association aims to improve recruitment, retention, and career progression for Sikh officers and staff, ensuring their religious and welfare needs are respected and accommodated.

PSSA maintains a strong relationship with the National Sikh Police Association (NSPAUK), connecting us with Sikh policing communities across the UK. We believe in building meaningful relationships through regular meetings, community engagement, and collaboration with external Sikh organisations, all with the goal of creating a more inclusive and understanding police service.

Together, we strive to support Police Scotland’s legal obligations under equality legislation, promote positive attitudes towards Sikhi, and contribute to community reassurance and safety.

To be included, organisations must adhere to our principles and guidance, and all entries are subject to rigorous background and vetting checks. If your organisation wishes to be added, please contact us in the first instance. We encourage organisations to ensure they align with our mission to support community safety and wellbeing, both locally and nationally, in line with Police Scotland and the Sikh Association’s objectives.
