| We were formed in 1981 and our aim is to promote all track, field and road events. The Prison Service Athletic Association undertook to stage the first ever International Prison Service Cross Country Race at Newbold Revel Training College on 11th October 1997. Teams from Holland, Portugal, Eire, France, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England/Wales took part in a 10k race. The race was won by Mr Dupoy of France, followed home by Mr J Rodrigues, Mr J Prata and Mr J Chicharo of Portugal, with Mr M Sherriff of England/Wales in 5th place. We have just hosted our national cross country championships and a copy of the report is available to read, as is a photograph of the team who represented England & Wales at the European Inter Prisons Championships near Dublin last November.
